Busy day for mommy and son

Usually Shaena and I are sending each other instant messages throughout the day but today there was no sign of her online all day. In the afternoon I gave her a call, just to check in on them. They had had the busiest day running errands, visiting Maeghan at work, touring the Edinburgh City Chambers and doing coffee with another mommy. No wonder the guys were exhausted when I came home this evening!

Ethan still had a little bit of play left in him, so I flipped him upside down a few times, had some good tickles and giggles, gave his grandma in Sweden a quick call, fed him some vegetable baby food and then he had a bath. Out like a little light. What a tough life.

Oh, and they also had a pressie for me when I got home that they had bought when were out and about! Somewhere in town, there is a Swedish cafe where they sell 'kladdkaka', Swedish chocolate cake! It was divine! I knew there were Swedish bars and restaurants around town but a Swedish cafe with sweet, sweet cakes and cookies!? Deadly!

Speaking of Sweden; it is almost time to start planning our summer holidays, believe it or not. Time is very flighty and before you know it, it's summer and this year we are looking into going up north in Sweden hopefully in time for the traditional midsummer celebrations in the end of June, with a stopover in Stockholm, so I researched flights and prices this evening. It was actually not that expensive.

I thought the domestic flights in Sweden would cost an arm and a leg but you just gotta love those low fares airlines! The other option to save a bit of money (and get the scenic route at the same time) is to fly from here to Stockholm and then drive up the coast all the way to county Norrbotten, all the way up to the land of the midnight sun. We'll give that some thought and will of course keep everyone in the loop.

Here is a couple of photos of Ethan and Maeghan, working away, helping the world:

"Pose for the camera. Hold. Hold. Hold... Hold."
"Oh come on! Take the photo already!"

"Crikey, the phone! It's ringing! #1 rule of customer service: Never leave a ringing phone unanswered! Oh, it's your mom."
