As Keith has taken it upon himself to keep us entertained during our time in Winnipeg and has agreed to take us out sightseeing, I have, as promised in an entry further down, compiled a list of potential tourist attractions and locations of interest, bearing in mind that all summer activities are off the table. I found this amazing website, www.destinationwinnipeg.ca, with a lot of useful information about Winnipeg. I'll keep researching and will add to this list if I find anything else of interest in Winnipeg, or Toronto, Grand Forks etc.
